The CrisisinIsrael.com web site was started during the the 2006 war with Lebanon. It was built as a way of connecting people who needed help and for those able to offer assistance. Thousands of Israelis opened their homes and hearts to the people affected in the North and South near the fighting. People from around the world also offered assistance and did their part in aiding a country at war. The war is over for now but the needs in the country are still great.

The site has evolved into a place where people can come to for information on how to help the many organizations and institutions that offer assistance to Israelis. Israel seems to go from one crisis to another but there are many dedicated individuals and institutions that make that path an easier one to handle.

Poke around the site and learn about many of the great organizations that are dedicated to making life in Israel better. Find a cause or two that is important to you and help build the Israel that we love.

I Support Israel

During the war thousands of people showed their support for our kidnapped soldiers by signing a petition. The petition was sent to the Secretary General of the UN with over 180,000 signatures. There are many ways to show support for our soldiers and country. We invite you to join our mailing list and stay in touch as we pass on ideas for helping Israel when she needs it most.

Profile - Table to Table

Why were a gaggle of pre-teen girls bent over or kneeling in a beet patch, pulling beets out of the ground under a late afternoon sun following a full day of school? For many, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are opportunities to celebrate, party, and receive gifts. But for an ever-increasing number, it is also a time to give.

I am proud of my daughter Shlomit, who celebrated her Bat Mitzvah just before Shavuot and had been informing us for over a year that as part of her celebration she wanted to do a "chesed" (charitable) project. We were glad to oblige, but stymied for the right activity we searched for a meaningful project that would produce a tangible result. We organized an activity that combined an educational component and a product that was of significant benefit to others.

Crisis in Israel website

During the war in Lebanon crisinisrael.com helped bring donors and organizations together via the Internet. What was interesting about the site was seeing the outpouring of goodness from Israelis and people abroad towards those that were affected by the situation in the north and south.

Offers of accomodations, food, toys...the offers just kept coming and the need was great.

We have preserved the original site for posterity and it is available to view by clicking on the read more below.
