disabled veterans need our help
With a war raging in Gaza, Beith Halochem is starting to prepare for new members.
"Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization" was established in the wake of the war of Independence (1949), with the purpose of assisting its 6,000 war disabled from this war requiring rehabilitation following their injuries.
Continuously ever since, Israel's reality was laced with war and unrelenting struggle for independence and security. Sadly, Zahal disabled veterans carry the scars of these years in their bodies and souls.
Since that time thousands of new members who were injured and wounded during their active or reserve services joined the organization's ranks and today the total number of war disabled in Israel reaches 50,000. Today, as always, they are the heart and soul of our organization.
In the last ten years, due to terror attacks, civilians found themselves standing in the front line and injured side by side with soldiers. Due to this new situation Z.D.V.O. took upon itself to care for this population. Today civilians, victims of terror can become equal members of one of the three Beit Halochem centers and enjoy Beit-Halochem centers and benefit from its services.
Beit Halochem's top priority is to take care of Israel’s disabled veterans, victims of terror and their families. At their centres in Israel, the disabled can regain the dignity and quality of life they deserve.
