The CrisisinIsrael.com web site was started during the the 2006 war with Lebanon. It was built as a way of connecting people who needed help and for those able to offer assistance. Thousands of Israelis opened their homes and hearts to the people affected in the North and South near the fighting. People from around the world also offered assistance and did their part in aiding a country at war. The war is over for now but the needs in the country are still great.
The site has evolved into a place where people can come to for information on how to help the many organizations and institutions that offer assistance to Israelis. Israel seems to go from one crisis to another but there are many dedicated individuals and institutions that make that path an easier one to handle.
Poke around the site and learn about many of the great organizations that are dedicated to making life in Israel better. Find a cause or two that is important to you and help build the Israel that we love.

We invite you to join our low-volume mailing list and stay in touch as we pass on ideas for helping Israel when she needs it most.

Why were a gaggle of pre-teen girls bent over or kneeling in a beet patch, pulling beets out of the ground under a late afternoon sun following a full day of school? For many, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are opportunities to celebrate, party, and receive gifts. But for an ever-increasing number, it is also a time to give.
I am proud of my daughter Shlomit, who celebrated her Bat Mitzvah just before Shavuot and had been informing us for over a year that as part of her celebration she wanted to do a "chesed" (charitable) project. We were glad to oblige, but stymied for the right activity we searched for a meaningful project that would produce a tangible result. We organized an activity that combined an educational component and a product that was of significant benefit to others.

During the war in Lebanon crisisinisrael.com helped bring donors and organizations together via the Internet. What was interesting about the site was seeing the outpouring of goodness from Israelis and people abroad towards those that were affected by the situation in the north and south.
Offers of accomodations, food, toys, applainces, rides...the offers just kept coming and the need was great. Support came from individuals in Israel and around the world and the many organizations that mobilized their members to pitch in.
We have preserved the original site for posterity and it is available to view by clicking on the read more link below.

The Chaiyanu organization in Israel services the entire family who is faced with the tragic diagnosis of a child with cancer and other serious illness which offers a full range of family-centered support services. Chaiyanu provides emotional, social, financial, educational support, and through crises intervention gives the family the tools to face and withstand all of their challenges. Chaiyanu's case management, full complement of services, professionalism and personal touch have been recognized for its excellence by Israel's hospital system: several hospitals have asked the agency to assign case managers to pediatric oncology centers to assure that clients have access to the full range of programs and services.

Earl Cox's extensive resume in the political arena in Washington, DC marked him as an ideal candidate to serve as a U.S. Ambassador . This was his heart's desire until 2002, when he had a life-changing experience.
Mr. Cox, who served in senior level positions with four US Presidents, returned from a jog to his beautiful island home in South Carolina knowing God asked him to stand with the Jewish people and the state of Israel. "From that moment," the 66 year old explains, "I dedicated my life as a Christian to do everything in my power to stand with the Jewish people. It's the right thing to do. God says those who bless Israel will be blessed and Israel needs friends in these perilous times." And Cox has done just that.
He began by giving sizeable amounts of money for Israeli terror victims and erecting billboards in Israel proclaiming Christian support for the Jews. Timed to coincide with the first billboards, Cox began producing and airing pro-Israel Christian support messages on Israel TV's channel 2. Both of these efforts formed the foundation for a fast-growing pro-Israeli radio program -- Front Page Jerusalem -- now airing coast to coast in the US and in 155 countries. Alongside the radio program he instituted pro-Israeli education and awareness efforts in the halls of Congress, the US Senate, and several state legislatures by organizing buses full of evangelical Christians.

Ezer Mizion, a Jewish registry to find matches for Jewish patients around the world celebrated a landmark as it passed the quarter million mark!
For many people suffering from cancer and other life-threatening diseases, bone marrow transplantation offers the only hope for survival.
Bone marrow transplantation is a medical procedure used to treat various types of cancers, aplastic anemia, and immune deficiency disorders in which the stem cells in the bone marrow produce defective blood cells that interfere with the production of normal blood cells. Traditional chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment used to destroy the abnormal stem cells and blood cells can also destroy normal cells in the bone marrow. A bone marrow transplant replaces the diseased or damaged bone marrow after the chemotherapy/radiation treatment, greatly increasing the likelihood of a cure.
Since donors and recipients must be genetically compatible, the chances of a Jewish patient finding a donor in general bone marrow donor registries are extremely slim. In response to that situation, Ezer Mizion established, in 1998, a Jewish registry to find matches for Jewish patients around the world.
